Meet our Veterinarians :
Ryan K. Heaton, DVM CEVMMP
Veterinarian
Ryan is originally from Murrayville, IL and attended the University of Illinois to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences. He stayed at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana campus to earn his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May 2010. After achieving his veterinary degree, he completed an internship at Prairie Equine Veterinary Clinic in Mundelein, IL where he concentrated on sports medicine and surgery. His professional interests include equine sports medicine, nutrition and reproduction.
 
His interest in sport horse medicine has led him pursue licensing with the FEI. Ryan is an FEI permitted treating veterinarian and intends to also become an FEI Veterinary Delegate.  In 2014, he attended the Integrative Veterinary Medical Institute (IVMI) in Ocala, Florida to complete the Equine Veterinary Medical Manipulation course. He is now a Certified Equine Veterinary Medical Manipulation Practitioner (CEVMMP).
 
Outside of Veterinary Medicine, Ryan enjoys mountain biking, golfing, sports and spending time with his family and friends.   
Elizabeth Fedorko, DVM
Veterinarian

Dr. Libby Fedorko grew up in Trumbull, Connecticut.  Her love of horses started at a very early age.  As a young rider, she won Reserve Champion at the 1999 USEF Pony Finals.  She then continued to compete in the hunter/jumper divisions along the east coast into high school and college.  Libby attended the University of Connecticut and competed on the UConn Equestrian Team, riding as captain her senior year.  In 2011 she graduated UConn with a B.S. in Animal Science.

 
Libby earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.  During veterinary school, she formed the Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging Club, and in her graduating year received The American College of Veterinary Radiology Award.  In addition to diagnostic imagining, she enhanced her interest and skills in equine sports medicine. Specifically learning more about the Equinosis Lameness Locator, an inertial sensor device created at the University of Missouri Veterinary Health Center. 
 
Post graduation, Libby completed a sports medicine internship with Dr. Mark Baus and Grand Prix Equine in Connecticut. After her internship, Libby joined a neighboring practice called Dunbarton Equine. During her four years at Dunbarton Equine she focused mainly on sports medicine, but also expanded her love for dentistry, and became proficient in the use of a dental camera and other specialized dental procedures.
 
Dr. Fedorko is a permitted FEI treating veterinarian and hopes to become a FEI veterinary delegate in the future. In her free time she enjoys the beach, surfing, hiking, camping, snowboarding, and spending time with her dog, Luna.
Tara Doherty, DVM, CEVMMP, CVA
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Tara Doherty grew up in Stratford, CT and started riding horses at a young age. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston University with a minor in Marine Science. She earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of California Davis in May 2022 before joining West Coast Equine Medicine. 
 
During veterinary school, Tara completed a research project with Dr. Susan Stover investigating the effects of horseshoe traction characteristics on distal limb forces. She was involved with search and rescue and shelter work with the UC Davis Veterinary Emergency Response Team for Northern California fires. Tara also completed an acupuncture course through Chi University to become a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA).
 
In her free time, Tara enjoys working out, trail running, and spending time with her retired gelding and two dogs, Finn and Moose. 
 
Ceyla Reynoso, MVZ, DVM
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Reynoso completed her Veterinary degree at University of Baja California, Mexico in 2008, where she graduated at the top of her class. She completed a year of internship at San Luis Rey Equine Hospital and two years of internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center.

She acquired strong skills in equine anesthesia, intensive care, surgery, imaging and lameness working closely with Veterinarians at the top of their fields. After completing her internships, she started her own equine practice in Tijuana, Mexico where she grew up. While running her practice, she joined Mission Equine Hospital in San Juan Capistrano CA. Since then, she has worked mainly in the sport medicine field with both English and Western performance horses.

She joined our team in 2025, and is excited to help the horse population in our area. In her time off she loves traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Shiv Patil, BVM, MRCVS
Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Patil joined our team in 2026.  He grew up in India and started riding horses from the age of 8. While he loves all animals, his passion for working with horses grew as he became involved in equine rescue and rehabilitation at a local sanctuary.  Shiv moved to the UK for university where he pursued a degree in animal behaviour and welfare, before going on to complete his veterinary medicine degree, both at The Royal Veterinary College in London. He graduated in 2025.

As a child, he grew up visiting extended family in Orange County every summer, so when the time came to move on from London and start his career, Southern California was the best place to be!  Outside of work Shiv enjoys rock climbing, exploring the neighbourhood, and spending time with his new horse Eddie.

Meet our Support Staff :
Michelle Jennings
Office Manager

Michelle joined the team as our Office Manager in September 2021 after nearly 15 years working in the same capacity at a small animal Emergency/Specialty hospital in town. 

She enjoys her time outdoors by finding remote trails to ride any one of her three horses on, the more remote and challenging the better, much of this is done with her friends in the Roubideaux Riding Club.  She also enjoys spending time with her dog Izzy, who you will likely have the chance to meet if you swing by the office for any reason.  Horse camping with her human, equine and canine friends is also at the top of her to do list.  You may also find her patrolling various areas on horseback while she volunteers her time with the Riverside County Mounted Posse – Lake Elsinore troop.

OFFICE GREETER

 

Izzy was a package deal when Michelle joined our team in 2021.  You will usually find her sitting on the couch in the front office, waiting for someone to come visit us.  You will also find her basking in the sun on the sidewalk outside of the office during one of the many breaks that she is allowed.  She takes her job as Office Greeter very seriously and loves attention and treats.  

Shelby Murray
Office Assistant

Shelby joined our team in 2021.  She  works in the office part-time and assists Michelle with the day to day tasks to help ensure that everything is running smoothly.

She competes nationally in eventing with her own horses.

Miguel Sanchez
Veterinary Assistant
Miguel joined our team in 2020.  His horse knowledge and handling skills have been a great asset to anyone that works with him.  In the time that he has been with us, he continues to increase his knowledge base and is a pleasure to be around.
 
Miguel has a BS in animal science with an emphasis in equine from UC Davis.  He has had horses all of his life. In his spare time he participates in charreadas and trail riding.  He also does some farrier work.
 
Jesse Felix
Veterinary Assistant

Jesse joined our team in 2022.  He has been a great addition to the team and is always willing to help out the vets and make their day a little easier.

He has spent over 25 years in the horse industry.  Together with his wife, they proudly run a small boarding and training facility. Horses, family, and their French bulldogs are a big part of his life. When he’s not at the ranch working horses, there’s a good chance you’ll find him enjoying time with his family at Disneyland.

Hannah Stanford
Veterinary Assistant

Hannah joined our team in 2025.  She was born and raised here in Southern California. She has been an avid horse lover and rider from an early age, with an extensive history in competing both locally and nationally. She attended the University of California, San Diego to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology.

During school, she was a riding instructor and loved sharing her passion with her students. After graduating, she took time to become more involved in the horse industry and became an assistant trainer at a local show barn. Hannah aspires to attend vet school and become an equine veterinarian. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, as well as riding her own horses and competing on the local circuit occasionally.
